Challengers is an independent childrens charity which relies on voluntary donations and partnerships with other organisations to deliver play and leisure for 1,300 disabled children and young people.
We are serious about play and about volunteering - offering people the opportunity of changing the lives of so many for the better. Volunteers bring a huge range of skills and expertise to the team and the work we do. You can volunteer at Challengers from the age of 15 (and there's no maximum age!).
We are very proud of what we can offer a volunteer and the range of opportunities we have mean you will gain from the experience. Whether it is giving something back, learning something new, supporting a charity or experience in the sector we know we can help! So many volunteers have gone on to achieve so much following their time with us.

Volunteer vacancies:
PLAY AND LEISURE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT | Guildford | Volunteer role
We are looking for amazing people to join our Play and Leisure Team in Guildford (office based). Some of the main duties of this role will include supporting our communications with staff and families, such as generating and sending mass mail outs, assisting in the administration of the database and filing systems (keeping children's, families' and staff records up-to-date, accurate and organised efficiently) and managing and overseeing regular credit control of bookings. You will also be required to oversee and organise the efficient collection, filing and recording of administration and paperwork from Challengers schemes (these include Incident Report Forms, registers, sign in sheets, timesheets and medication records) and support the team with any administrative duties as required, including answering phones, taking messages, promotional mail outs and general document filing. BASKETBALL VOLUNTEERS | Bellfields Youth Centre, Guildford | Wednesdays 5-6:30pm
We are looking for dynamic volunteers to help out with basketball sessions delivered by a qualified Guildford Heat basketball coach at Bellfield’s Youth Centre, Guildford. The sessions will take place afterschool during term time every Wednesday between 5-6:30pm. You should ideally have an interest in sport and be keen to get stuck in but you don't need any previous experience of working with disabled young people.
