How to book

Challengers Booking Line 01483 230 939

We are an independent childrens charity. We rely on voluntary donations and partnerships with other organistions to deliver projects to disabled children. If you would like to help us at anytime please email fundraising@disability-challengers.org or call 01483 230 060 or, to make a donation, click on ' Donate Now.'

Our booking periods correspond with the school terms and holiday periods. We stagger the dates that we ask families to call in each booking period so that there are less people trying to call at the same time, which should mean you get through to us quicker to make your booking. We plan our play and youth schemes around Surrey County Council school term dates. Term dates can also be found at www.surreycc.gov.uk. See also the Challengers Scheme List 2011.

Please call prepared with the activities and dates you want to book and with your payment details.

CHALLENGERS BOOKING LINE 01483 230 939 MONDAY – FRIDAY 9.30AM – 5PM

CHILDREN’S INFORMATION SHEET – FIRST VISITS & ONE-TO-ONE SUPPORT

Before a young person comes to a Challengers play or youth scheme, the staff team need information about the needs, likes and dislikes of each young person. We will need an up-to-date ‘Children’s Information Sheet’ and any other useful ‘care plans’ or information developed by the family or other professionals for young people before the project starts.

When and where it is possible Challengers staff will set up an introductory ‘first visit’ for a young person and their family which will last approximately 30 - 45 minutes. A first visit will offer the child and family the chance to look around the scheme and get a feel for what we do and how we do it.

Some young people will benefit from ONE-TO-ONE CARE from a play/youth worker. Parents and families will need to say on the information sheet whether your daughter or son is used to and will benefit from one-to-one support. The level of support that each child needs is continually reviewed and monitored by all staff.

Lots of children who come to play at Challengers schemes have a ‘complex impairment’ and are provided with a high level of care and support by Challengers staff. For example nursing support, ‘two-to-one’ care and trained staff able to administer routine ‘medical procedures’. Play and youth staff will need information about the care that , including an up-to-date Children’s Information Sheet.
