Bookings periods for 2010
Below each school term and holiday period are the dates that you need to call to book for Challengers schemes. We stagger the dates that we ask families to call in each booking period so that there are less people trying to call at the same time, which should mean you get through to us quicker to make your booking. We plan our play and youth schemes around Surrey County council school term dates. Term dates can also be found at www.surreycc.gov.uk. See also the Challengers Scheme List 2010.

The Disability Challengers booking line 01483 230 939 Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5pm
You will be told the maximum number of days you can book in that particular booking period. You must have made a First Visit before you can book on to a Challengers scheme. Call the booking line to check availability or to be added to waiting lists for schemes. If you are added to a waiting list you will be called when spaces become available.
'First Visit' with the Leader at Challengers
Before you can book you'll need to arrange a First Visit with the Leader. This is a chance for children and their family to see Challengers, meet the staff teams and get a feel for what we do and how we do it. It is also a chance for the Challengers staff to meet the family and find out about the likes and dislikes of the child or young person. At the First Visit we will complete a Children's Information Sheet with the family and discuss what the child will need while they are playing at Challengers.
Paying for bookings
Disability Challengers charge families for bookings in advance by debit or credit card, confirmation of payment and bookings are posted to the family. Families can also pay using vouchers, eg. Accor or Busy Bees.
Paying using Direct Payments and Carers Vouchers
Families can pay for sessions at Challengers using Direct Payments or Carers Vouchers issued by a local authority. Direct Payments and Carer’s Vouchers are payments made to families or individuals who have been assessed by the local authority. For more information call the Play and Leisure Team 01483 230 930 or speak to your social worker or go to www.dh.gov.uk. If families use Carers Vouchers or Direct Payments to pay Disability Challengers will charge a local authority price. Please speak to a member of the Play and Leisure Team if you wish to pay using Cares Vouchers or Direct Payments and we will be please to help.
Price Concessions - 50% off for families in receipt of Income Support
Disability Challengers offer a 50% reduction to families who are in receipt of Income Support. Families must be prepared to provide proof of receipt of Income Support. To find out about Income Support, contact your local Jobcentre Plus office or benefits office or go to www.direct.gov.uk.
Please speak to a member of the Play and Leisure team if you are having difficulty in paying.
Cancellations - please tell us if you're not coming!
Disability Challengers will charge for any booked session that is missed or cancelled, unless we have at least 5 working days notice. Credit built up from cancellations will be held by Disability Challengers for families to use on future bookings, unless a refund is requested.
