Challengers Easter and Summer Term 2011

Challengers Booking Line 01483 230 939

Bookings for days at Challengers Easter and Summer Term schemes are now being taken. The booking dates have been staggered to reduce queuing times so please only call in the booking period that we have shown below.

We are sorry that the Easter booking period is late but we have only just received some indication from Hampshire and Surrey County Council about funding for the Easter and Summer Term period (April to July). The total funding contribution from the local authorities still needs to be confirmed. As an independent children's charity, this funding is only a proportion of what we rely upon so we are still heavily reliant on voluntary donations.

We will contact you changes to funding if this affects any of your bookings in the future and do reserve the right to cancel programmes affected by local authority budget cuts.

At the end of this page is a summary of some important changes we are making to the Challengers programme.

WHEN TO CALL TO BOOK – STAGGERED BOOKING PERIODS EXPLAINED
• Playschemes (children age 4 – 12)
 7 – 8 March: children age 4 – 12 who have 1:1 support
 9 – 11 March: children age 4 – 12 who do not have 1:1 support
• Youth and Young Adult Schemes (young people age 13 – 18 and 18 – 25)
 14 – 15 March: young people age 13 – 18 and 18 - 25 who have 1:1 support
 16 – 18 March: young people age 13 – 18 and 18 - 25 who do not have 1:1 support
• We stagger the bookings to spread the number of phone calls coming in to the booking line – this way families are less likely to be kept queuing for long periods and more likely to be able to get through first time.

• Look at the Challengers Schemes List attached and on our website to see where and when the different schemes run (some of the schemes have changed – make sure you look at the scheme list and the summary of changes below).
• Families are asked to pay in advance for bookings by credit or debit card. (If you want to use Direct Payments to pay for your bookings please contact the Play and Leisure Team before the booking period.)
