On Sunday 22nd April sixteen extremely brave people are taking on the challenge of a lifetime to raise money for Disability Challengers. The Virgin London Marathon. All 26.2 gruelling miles of it. Running such a huge distance is a massive undertaking, and requires a phenomenal amount of dedication to ensure that each runner is ready for the challenge which awaits them. In order to prepare one’s body for the impact of the marathon, building muscle strength and stamina, Team DC have to steadily increase their training, in mileage and intensity, and then just before the marathon scale it back down, to ensure they are reasonably fresh and not running with any damage before the big day. If you have ever considered running the marathon why not click here and check out what the experts advise in training.
Below are the online fundraising pages our runners have set up, please, take a look and see why it is so important to them to run for Challengers, and how they are doing against their fundraising targets! Any sponsorship will help to make a real difference to the children, young people and families we support.
