CHARITIES WE WORK WITH

Link Leisure - We work with Link Lesiure to provide a range of leisure activities for disabled young people across Surrey. Surrey based Link Leisure exists to support children and adults with learning impairments to take part in community sports and leisure activities.

Redhill YMCA - We work with Redhill YMCA to provide a range of leisure activities for disabled young people across East Surrey. Their aim is to help people of all ages to develop and fulfil their potential and we do this through a range of activities and services.

White Lodge Centre - We work with White Lodge to provide a range of leisure activities for disabled young people across Surrey. Based in Chertsey, White Lodge supports disabled children, adults and their families or carers in Surrey and the surrounding areas.

CHARITIES WE SUPPORT

Carers Anonymous- Carers Anonymous are a voluntary organisation based in Guildford, dedicated to providing support to those caring for people with any kind of impairment. As well as providing a place for carers to meet up, Carers Anonymous also uses a 12-step system to support individuals.

Cool2Care - A childcare introductory service that recruits, screens and trains care-workers (Personal Assistants, PAs), bringing together families with disabled children or young adults and people who want to work caring for them.

Disability Net - Disability Net is a worldwide information and news service for all disabled people and people with an interest in disability issues.

Face to Face - A befriending service offering emotional support to parents discovering that their child has a disability.

Fun Sense Theatre - Multi sensory shows and workshops for everybody.

KIDS - A national charity supporting the development and delivery of services for disabled children in the UK.

MENCAP - Britain's oldest and largest charity for people with learning disabilities, their families and carers.

National Autistic Society (Surrey Branch) - This site has an extensive list of resources for parents (and carers) of children with learning disabilities in Surrey, along with links to various other resources.

SCOPE - If you are looking for information about cerebral palsy, a place to start is this website.

Stepping Stones - This school is for children with hemiplegia or other moderate physical and learning disabilities.

Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) - Launched in May 2007, AHDC is the transformation programme for disabled children's services.

Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) - The purpose of the Department for Children, Schools and Families is to make England the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up.

Department of Health - The Department of Health develop and deliver health and social care policy, guidance and publications for NHS and social care professionals.

Every Child Matters - Every Child Matters: Change for Children is a new approach to the well-being of children and young people from birth to age 19. The Government's aim is for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to: Be healthy; Stay safe; Enjoy and achieve; Make a positive contribution; and achieve economic well-being.

GOV.UK - The 'one-stop parenting shop' for information and guidance for parents on everything from maternity leave to immunisation.

Guildford Borough Council - Go here for local information and links about living and working in Guildford. Guildford Borough Council contribute funding and supptort to Challengers.

Healthwatch Surrey- Healthwatch Surrey is being developed to give the people of Surrey a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided in Surrey.

Partnership with Parents - This website contains a set of Partnership with Parents Information Sheets for parents.

Surrey County Council - Social Services, Early Years and Childcare Service and Schools. Surrey County Council contribute funding to Challengers.

The Charity Commission - Their register holds comprehensive information about every registered charity in England and Wales (including us!).
