Guildford Rotary 10k
9th May 2010
This is an annual 10k walk that the Guildford Rotary organise which goes from Shalford Park to St.Marthas Hill and Albury, please see the map attached. It is primarily a walk but a number of participants do run the route as well. This event is free to enter and only requires participants to register their involvement on the day of the event.
This event does not support any one charity in particular as each entrant nominates the charity of their own choice and are individually responsible for collecting their sponsorship money and forwarding it to that charity.
We have come to be involved in this event as the President of the Guildford Rotary is also the Chairman of Disability Challengers. For more information and to download a sponsorship form please visit

The Farnham Carnival
Saturday 26th June 2010
Last year’s hugely successful ‘Myths & Legend’ carnival theme saw a bright, loud and fun parade of everything from dragons to phoenix’s rising from the ashes! Of course, at Challengers we did it our own way and a 20ft cardboard statue of our own ‘miniature hero’, Reg Shellcan was wheeled through the busy streets of Farnham...
The idea...
Farnham Carnival has been a feature of Farnham’s summer scene for several decades. Organised by two Farnham ‘service’ clubs, The Lions and The Hedgehogs, the objective remains to provide an event in which the community can participate and which they can enjoy. Any money made, over and above expenses, is welcomed and used wisely for local charitable causes, but this has never been the driving force. Above all, the carnival encourages the youth of the town to take a leading part in the festivities.
The theme...
This years theme of ‘Fashions Through the Ages’ should make an interesting theme as we are planning to exploit our love for play and make a parade of supporters dressed up as a toy through the ages!!
Please help...
However, we really need your help to make the parade a success. We are looking for around 60 volunteers to help us on the day so, whether you’re feel arty and want to make a costume, or just want to help us collect funds at the carnival, please get in touch...
