Dozens of companies have helped Disability Challengers become what it is today - not only a charity that leads the way in providing play and leisure for disabled children but also a professional and dynamic organisation. That help has come in many forms, from straight forward, one off donations (finding a cheque in the morning post is one of the highlights of being a fundraiser!) to event sponsorship and free services.
And by supporting us, those same companies have also felt the benefits. Taking part in the local community is important for every business and supporting a local charity is a fantastic way to do that, perhaps through a donation, sponsorship, employee fundraising or building a partnership.
Every company is different and we would love to work with you to make sure your support helps as many people as much as possible, including your employees, customers and local community. You can find more information about some of the ways you can support us below, but please just give us a call on 01483 230060 or email us at fundraising@disability-challengers.org if you'd like to have a chat.
Decorators merchants Brewers Ltd is a family run business.
There has been a long standing relationship between Brewers Ltd and Disability Challengers, and Chris Brewer, president of Brewers, is now a patron of our charity.
Brewers celebrated their centenary in 2004 and decided to donate to our Big Play Appeal. Their donation enabled us to purchase a two-acre site in Farnham, Surrey and begin the lengthy renovations needed to create play and youth centres.
But Brewers involvement in the project did not end there. We have benefited from their expert advice and contacts in the decorating industry, with their largest suppliers ICI donating all the paint needed for the renovations. Brewers have advised us on the design, layout and project management of the youth and play centres and are always happy to help with suggestions for suppliers and useful contacts.
The relationship with Brewers extends beyond Chris Brewer and the top levels of management. Staff regularly visit the new site in Farnham and other projects to see how their company is giving back to their local community. This gives them all a sense of pride and involvement in the charity’s work.
The support of Brewer’s is well publicised through Disability Challengers communications, with articles on our website and regular pieces in our newsletter. The same is true for Brewer’s staff newsletter, where they keep all their staff up to date on progress of the partnership and our new site in Farnham.
