Harry and Joe should have been celebrating their 21st birthdays this year. But each of their lives were cut tragically short, Harry at the age of 16 and Joe aged 12. In their memory, their parents set up the campaign ‘Challenje 21’ to raise an incredible £21,000 for Disability Challengers.
On the 10th September, 43 very brave people took on a 21 mile walk for the campaign across the Surrey Hills, navigating themselves from Godalming, through meadows, woods, bracken and mud, through wind and rain up and down the famous hills - to the finishing point – a steep climb to the Temple in Nower, Dorking. Disability Challengers would like to say a HUGE thank you to all involved on the day, it was a fantastic event and has brought the campaign closer to its incredible target of £21,000! Why not take a quick look at a few snaps of the day on our Facebook page?
Disability Challengers would like to give a special mention to various individuals and organisations who have all been involved with Challenje 21 and wholeheartedly supported the campaign. From local community groups to local businesses, the support so far has been phenomenal – thank you.
If you want to get involved, whether it be a 21 mile relay race, a 21 themed party or 21 minute challenge - please feel free to contact Marianne Watts at challenje21 at hotmail.co.uk or Lucy Sharma at Disability Challengers on 01483 230060. To see what Challenje 21 has been up to and for all the fundraising information, please check out the Challenje 21 Just Giving page to see where the campaign is today!
