Brushing shoulders with the stars...

Flicking through the pages of Heat Magazine usually satisfies our appetite for celebrity, but not Challengers... no, we had to step just a little bit closer to the red carpet!

Let it be...

It took a lot of glue, paint and glitter, but some budding artists at Challengers Farnham created a masterpiece to be sent to a little known drummer to ask for support for our 30^th Party.  Just a week before the event we received an email from a very nice lady telling us that Ringo Starr and his wife Barbara Bach wanted to donate a signed drum skin for our Grand auction! 

Of course, the drumhead became an instant star prize and quite a bidding war erupted during the auction.    And, whilst we were still revelling in receiving the wonderful support of Mr and Mrs Starkey, we received another surprise... a visit from a charitable foundation which the Starkey’s play a very large role in.

So, you can imagine our excitement when we returned from the Christmas Holidays to a cheque for £10,000 from the trust!! A great start to 2010!!

 It’s an Omen...

Those of you who came along to celebrate our super-stylish 30^th Birthday last November saw a rather special video - a four minute extravaganza of animation, clips and sound which told the story of our 30 year history and thanked everyone who helped get us to where we are today.   But... in order to make the video such a success we had to choose a cool and memorable soundtrack that just so happened to be on a album which made it all the way to No.1 in the album charts last year.   Due to copyright laws we thought that after that night, we wouldn’t be able to show anyone else the video. 

But... due to the help of independent record company Cooking Vinyl, we managed to get our little video forwarded to the multi-award winning band who made the track.  A week later...Liam Howlett from

The Prodigy had watched our video, loved it and with the support of Cooking Vinyl, Fusion Management and EMI Music Publishing, gave us permission to share it with the world!!
